Our service

We digitise film at the highest technical level, both for commercial productions, archives and private customers.

Technically we rely on the top class: We operate two ARRISCAN XT incl. wetgate option and a DFT SCANITY HDR incl. Sondor light-sound unit. We digitise 35mm incl. VistaVision, 16mm, 9.5mm and Super8 / 8mm film. 

On request, we can digitise extremely shrunken material with a converted Nellson Hordell Oxberry at up to 6K.

How it works

Private customers simply fill in our Order form and send us your material by post / courier from all over the world. Please note our shipping instructions. For larger quantities, please give us advance notice.

Productions / institutions receive customised offers and personal contact from us. Tightest timings (same day) and special technical requirements are no problem for us. 

ARRISCAN XT

We were the first service provider worldwide to commission the ARRISCAN XT in 2018 and have since doubled our capacity with a second ARRISCAN XT including the wetgate option. Our scanners are equipped with all gates and archive options.

Particularly worth mentioning is the possibility of being able to optimally utilise the scan area by frame-specific positioning of the optics in relation to the film, for example to scan N16mm in DCI 4k with an internal image dimension of 4096 pixels without "wasting" resolution in the unexposed Super16 area.

SCANITY HDR

Primarily for new productions with the most urgent timings, we can digitise with the SCANITY HDR 4K 16 BIT in Hollywood high-end quality in almost real time. The SCANITY is the only high-end motion picture scanner that is realistically fast enough for a 4K scan once workflow.

The Scanity's phenomenal oversampling rate is particularly worth mentioning: every scan line is recorded in real time without any sensor noise or other artefacts thanks to 30-fold oversampling!

With the built-in SONDOR sound unit, we can also digitise light and magnetic sounds in parallel with the image.

SUPER8

For Super8 / 8mm & 9.5mm we use the scanners of our long-standing partner Kornmanufaktur.

The ability to scan films edge to edge is particularly noteworthy. 

High end without compromise

Not all film scans are the same - and technology is only half the battle: Our highly specialised film technicians and scanning operators have the necessary experience to scan film in the quality you expect.

We digitise film for new productions to Hollywood standards and implement the most sophisticated ACES requirements. For international projects, we are in close contact with other high-calibre industry partners such as Company3 in London and L.A.

We handle archive materials in accordance with the requirements of the DIN SPEC 15587 and digitise them to meet the high demands of our satisfied customers.
