We sell, develop and scan Super8 films - from colour negative to Ektachrome to black and white reversal.
We develop your Super8 / 8mm films either as colour negative (ECN-2), colour reversal (E-6) or black and white reversal.
We can then digitise the films in resolutions up to 4K. We provide a download link as standard.
We are also the only laboratory in the world to offer negative/positive copying of 8mm material.
Private customers either fill in our Order form or order development & scan completely convenient online and then send us the films by post.
We expressly ask you to observe our shipping instructions in order to avoid (customs) complications.
Productions with tight schedules or larger quantities are welcome to contact us directly for a customised offer.
The costs for developing & scanning depend on the quantity and the type of material sent in. Colour negative films are generally cheaper to develop than reversal films. An HD or 2K scan is also cheaper than a 4K scan.
For single films we offer special prices for processing and scanning - the more films you send in, the cheaper the scan will be.
Medium-sensitive colour negative material with low grain, neutral colour rendition and a high contrast range. The material is well suited for all applications, especially in settings with controlled light where 500T appears too grainy. Negative film is not suitable for projection without additional work. After development, Super8 is usually digitised. However, with Andec Cinegrell Copies on positive material for projection.
Highly sensitive colour negative material with relatively low grain, neutral colour reproduction and a high contrast range. The material is suitable for all applications, but has a more pronounced grain compared to the other film types. Particularly suitable for taking pictures in very poor lighting conditions. Negative film is not suitable for projection without additional work. After development, Super8 is usually digitised. However, with Andec Cinegrell Copies on positive material for projection.
Ektachrome is a fine-grained and medium-sensitive colour reversal film. It is characterised by neutral colour rendition and good contrast processing. Ektachrome is suitable for outdoor photography in normal to moderate lighting conditions. For indoor shots, the film is suitable with additional lighting with the correct colour temperature (daylight) or correct filtering. Reversal material produces a directly visible positive image after development that can be projected directly. Ektachrome is also very suitable for digitalisation.

The standard runtime for development including scanning is 7 to 10 days. If the workload is very high, it may take longer for your scans to be made available for download.
Faster with an online order:
It's quicker if films have already been paid for and booked with our online order - the average turnaround here is around 5 working days. If your film was developed on Wednesday, you will receive the scans on Friday.
For tight deadlines, express development and scanning are possible at any time by arrangement and possibly at extra cost.
We can scan Super8 film with a resolution of HD, 2K and up to 4k+.
By default, the scan is log (flat) and is delivered without contrast correction. We can adjust the contrast on request.
The full perforation is visible during the scan.
You can choose between easy-to-use H264 MP4 files or professional ProRes Quicktimes (422 / 4444) when selecting the files you want to receive.
The delivery of .dpx sequences is also possible on request.
Delivery is by default via download link or via Cinegrell Cloud.
We deliver the Super8 scans with a slight overscan as standard. This means that part of the perforation and a small part of the next and previous image can be seen in the frame.
On request (select in the order form) we can also scan Super8 film edge to edge. This gives you almost the full width of the film, including the full perforation in addition to a small part of the following and previous image.
On request (select in the order form) we can also scan Super8 film cleanly cropped to the image content. You will then only receive the image, cropped rectangularly to the corresponding recording format.
We develop overlaid / old films exclusively without guarantee of results.
Kodakchrome films cannot be developed by us.
Old material may have to be developed separately, which is why no binding timings can be given here.
We can push Super8 / 8mm films in development up to +2 f-stops, or push -1 f-stop (forced / deforced development).
Please note that additional costs will be incurred. We therefore ask you to contact us in advance by e-mail for special Super8 developments.
As only printing facility worldwide we offer Super8 copying on fresh 8mm ECP copy material specially produced for us by Kodak. We can also produce 8mm copies from digital data.
We offer both Super8 negative to positive copies, as well as reductions of 16mm or 35mm negatives, or the exposure of digital data on Super8 print.
With decades of experience in analogue printing, we can also produce copies of the highest quality in the 8mm format on lovingly maintained machines that meet the requirements for the tightest tolerances of such a small format.
You can bring the films to us in person at any time during our opening hours in Berlin, or send them to us conveniently by post or courier.
